LPG: The Exceptional Fuel


Liquefied Petroleum Gas or LPG is popularly known is an efficient and innovative energy source that finds its utility for the consumers, industry and environment. LPG is one of the reputed and widely used  eco-friendly fuels, LPG is a low-carbon and clean energy that does not cost our Earth. It is portable, widely available and it is sale. It helps to cut down on the harmful impacts of the climate change.


LPG Composition and Properties:
LPG is natural occurring product of the natural gas extraction processes. It is an automatic result of the oil refining process also. This is primarily a mixture of the two hydrocarbons: they are Propane and Butane.
Marketed with an ISI conformation of IS 4576, typical LPG composition is 40% Propane and 60% Butane
LPG is liquefied under the ambient temperature and pressure. However, it is in gaseous state at the normal temperature.
LPG is colorless, odorless. Hence to detect leakages all LPG are odorized with the Ethyl Mercaptan.
LPG is heavier than the air, insoluble in water and it expands by 250-270 times if allowed to convert into LPG vapour.
